Maggie Stickney

Maggie Stickney grew up on Long Island and attended Massachusetts College of Art and Design where she earned a BFA in printmaking. She then moved to NYC and received her MA in Art Therapy from New York University. She worked as an art educator for many years before moving south and currently lives in Fairhope, AL with her husband and three daughters.

Maggie loves exploring the endless possibilities of color and light in landscapes and says she is "drawn to the edge of two worlds" - the coast and dusk being some of her recent explorations. When not painting landscapes she enjoys honing her practice and understanding of color and light with simple household still lifes. Finding beauty in the simple and mundane. Creating visual interest with ordinary objects like the common house plant or fruit. Ultimately seeing beauty everywhere is her focus.
