Caroline Stroud
About the Artist
Caroline Stroud is a fine artist with a focus on collage work and live event paintings. She earned a business and studio art degree from the University of Georgia and moved to Atlanta, GA upon graduating.
Her botanical collages are an homage to the floral arrangements and installations she sees at her wedding paintings each weekend. Drawn to the almost puzzle piece-like characteristic of the florals, Caroline is inspired by how each flower fits perfectly within the arrangement and complements one another in color and shape to create a cohesive bouquet. Caroline deconstructs these bouquets into a swirling pool of botanical shapes that lay flat on the canvas. Creating multiple layers of contrasting designs on each flower- quick staccato marks layered on top of wide and lazy brush strokes- she is able to relay the very busy yet contained manner of the wedding bouquets she admires.
When Caroline is not creating floral collages in her Buckhead studio, she is traveling the Southeast painting at various corporate events and weddings or working on more realist acrylic paintings. Caroline has painted live at over 180 events including PGA tour events and MLB events and her work can be found in the Georgia State Capitol, Truist Park (home of the Atlanta Braves), GlobeLife Field (home of the Texas Rangers), Arthur M. Blank hospital and the Visitor’s Center at the University of Georgia.
