Julie Maeseele

Julie Maeseele is a multi-faceted creative based in Birmingham, Alabama. Her work reimagines the traditional still life through the tactile lens of textile, inspired by Flemish painters Jean Brusselmans, Roger Raveel etc. 

By assembling fabric remnants into still life collages, she transforms discarded textiles into a reflection of home and daily life.

This process of stitching together the ordinary breathes new life into "waste," finding quiet complexity in the composition of the salvaged.
