Charlotte Seifert is Houston-based artist. She earned her BFA and MFA from Southern Methodist University in painting. She has received fellowships from the Vermont Studio Center and was awarded a merit scholarship for her master’s degree at SMU. Her work has been accepted in juried shows as well as group exhibitions. She is a member of PrintHouston and Burning Bones Press, Houston.
Charlotte’s work is inspired by literature, theology and personal history. She uses elements of nature as metaphor for ideas and expresses her feelings through color. Primarily a painter, Charlotte has been making monotypes in the past several years. She finds painting and printmaking to be challenging and essential for her practice. Her work is both abstract and figurative, drawing from her interior world and the natural landscape she inhabits.
