Megan Biram
About the Artist
Megan Biram is a contemporary artist based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She received her degree from the School of Journalism at the University of Missouri where she studied advertising and magazine journalism, specializing in design. Megan worked as a senior designer and photo shoot director at Hallmark Cards for five years before going full-time on her own as an artist, writer, consultant, and photo shoot producer over 12 years ago.
Megan has collaborated with brands such as Uber, HP, Pratt & Lambert, and others. She has painted over 35 murals around the United States, several of which have been featured in the New York Times, on the Today Show, on Good Morning America, and in Northern Virginia Magazine.
Through the abstraction of shapes, symbols, and expressive motion, Megan's work explores close-held emotions that she rarely express verbally, and themes such as heartbreak, heritage and culture, nature, obsessive behavior, grief, current events, and her interpretation of the world. Megan's work is rooted in stories, thanks to her degree in journalism. Using paint, mediums, fabrics, sand, vintage items and other materials she explore textures and concepts through her work.
