Wellon Bridgers

An artist and advocate, Birmingham-based Wellon Bridgers has four children — twins and “twiblings” adopted from the Republic of Congo. After experiencing an unethical adoption process, she was moved to do something and now serves as the U.S. Director at a grassroots ministry based in Africa that seeks to provide a hopeful future for orphaned and vulnerable children. Wellon’s artwork explores themes of finding truth in a broken world. She is consistently drawn to the play of light + dark, resulting in abstract representational paintings that are soft and thought-provoking. Her hope is that her work will speak truth to you where and when you need it.
