Pair of Louis XVI Style Fauteuils, France c. 1900 in Kristen Leigh Mili Blue Back & Green

$5,200.00

A refined pair of French Louis XVI style fauteuils from around 1900, and a textbook example of the form — a shaped crest rail, reeded scrolled arm supports, carved rosettes set into the corner blocks and slender fluted, tapered legs. The frames wear a chalky painted finish in a pale putty grey, worn back at the edges and high points to a warm undertone.

Newly upholstered in Kristen Leigh Mili in Blue Back & Green — stylised olive and ivory palmettes scattered across a soft powder-blue ground — with the arm pads picked out in Kristen Leigh Meadow Check in Light Blue and a chartreuse cord welt outlining the frame.

Sold as a pair. Light, graphic and easy to place — either side of a fireplace, at the ends of a dining table, or angled into a bedroom corner.
