Odette Collective
Odette is always drawn to a frame with this much hand-carving. Tall and rectangular, its sides are worked in deep, pierced openwork — scrolling acanthus and C-scrolls — with a carved crest and a twisted rope molding hugging the plate. The wood has been stripped back to a soft, pale natural tone, which keeps all that baroque drama feeling light and current rather than heavy. The mirror itself has aged to a gently foxed, cloudy silver. Striking leaned against a wall or hung over a console — sculptural, and a true conversation piece.
