Odette loves the soft, silvery shimmer of this one. An Empire-style mirror whose wide border is set with antiqued, mercury-silvered panels, scattered with gilded acanthus-leaf appliqués at the corners and centers, all framing a gilt inner molding. The aged silver and worn gold give it a gentle, weathered glamour, and the central plate has foxed to a cloudy, atmospheric finish. It catches and diffuses light beautifully over a console or mantel. Faded, elegant, and full of quiet sparkle.
