Odette adores the little stories these crested mirrors tell. This one is topped with a carved crest of books and laurel — an 'ex libris' nod to the library — set above a beaded, parcel-gilt frame painted in soft faded green. The mercury plate has aged to a beautifully foxed, cloudy silver, full of speckle and depth. Its small scale and charming crown make it perfect over a desk, a small console, or layered into a collected wall. Sweet, scholarly, and genuinely old.
