Odette loves a Louis XVI frame paired with a plate this atmospheric. The rectangular gilt frame carries fine beaded and foliate moldings, resting on small carved corner blocks, but it's the glass that steals the show — heavily oxidized original silvering, clouded and speckled with dramatic age throughout. That cloudy reflection is impossible to reproduce. Hung or leaned, it adds instant soul and a soft, diffused light. Gilded, original, and beautifully worn.
