Odette Collective
A substantial, characterful pair of carved French armchairs from around 1940, the kind of warm, hand-worked wood Odette loves to ground a room. Each frame is solid oak in a deep honey tone, with a lovely carved back — an interlaced ribbon splat beneath a pierced lattice panel and an arched, gently carved crest — set off by broad, flat scrolled arms and bobbin-turned front legs. There's a generous, slightly architectural heft to them that feels both rustic and refined. The seats are upholstered in a soft blue-grey botanical print that lightens all that rich wood. As a pair they make handsome lounge or accent chairs flanking a fireplace, or comfortable extra seating split between rooms. Sturdy, sculptural, and full of craft.
