Odette Collective
A romantic French table from around 1850 named for its shape — a softly scalloped, violin-form top that curves and swells like the body of the instrument. The top is veneered in beautifully figured burl walnut, centered on an inlaid medallion of contrasting woods, its serpentine edge painted to set off the warm grain. Below, hand-carved trestle supports meet at a turned stretcher and finish in scrolled feet on casters, full of nineteenth-century craft. A century and a half has given the whole piece a deep, storied patina that can't be faked. At its low, generous height it makes a gorgeous coffee or center table, or a sculptural occasional table wherever you want a little antique romance. One of a kind, and full of character.
