The title arrived before the brush touched the surface. In the Chinese poetic tradition, butterflies do not visit flowers, they linger. That distinction is not incidental. It carries an entire philosophical register: the relationship between wing and petal is ancient, unhurried, and entirely without need of explanation. Some pairings in the natural world are simply given.
