An autumn bloom in a Chinoiserie garden. Saffron yellow and chrysanthemum orange peonies, the flower of imperial honor. Among the blooms, two butterflies, both Udara dilecta, the Pale Hedge Blue, native to China, have found one another. One carries lilac in its wings, one carries sapphire. They are the same, and entirely different, their colors shifting with the light the silk holds quietly beneath the painted surface.
